And if the new > version is preferred, will it still support protocol v.03? (hopefully no > major changes in libtpproto-java required?). libtpproto-java currently supports TP03 (at least the part I needed), but the protocol classes are autogenerated from protocol definition files and TP04 *should* work (as long as documents/protocol/protocol.xml is correct). You just need to generate the classes :) > Also, regardless of the last question, I encountered a potential problem > with the manual installation of tpserver-cpp: It did not register itself > in the package manager on ubuntu, and now I can see no way of removing > it (I read the provided documentation, but couldn't find anything on > uninstall). Of course it would be preferrable to have an elegant way of > uninstalling it, but if there is none, perhaps someone knows how to do > it "surgically"? (i.e. dig in all the system files it changed). Well, the package manager is responsible for "registering" packages, not the package itself (it's the "Linux way", in contrast to the "Windows way"). So if you manually install something (as apparently you did), you have to also be able to manually remove it. That's why there's /usr/local directory :) But, anyway, I think there should be a make target that uninstalls more or less automatically (just as there is "make install"). I'm not na autotools guru, so someone else should confirm (or deny) it... -- KS "To an engineer, everyone looks like a chimp" - Dilbert -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
